Celebrate World Poetry Day: enter our competition
Nestled in the picturesque county of Warwickshire, renowned for its rich heritage in literature and as the birthplace of the iconic playwright, William Shakespeare, Billesley Manor invites you to celebrate World Poetry Day by unleashing your creativity in our exclusive poetry competition.
A tribute to poetry and Shakespeare’s Warwickshire roots
Warwickshire has long been a cradle of literary inspiration, with Stratford-upon-Avon proudly recognised as the birthplace of Shakespeare, whose works continue to influence global literature and poetry. Here at Billesley Manor, where Shakespeare himself is said to have written part of As You Like It, poetry holds a special significance.
In honour of World Poetry Day, celebrated annually on 21st March, we're inviting poets, writers, and literary enthusiasts to channel the poetic spirit and showcase their talent in our exciting poetry competition.
Enter and win a luxurious prize
Submit your original poem and you could win a delightful Cream Tea Spa Day for Two at Billesley Manor, offering a relaxing retreat in our historic Warwickshire estate. The winning poem, carefully chosen by our esteemed Billesley panel, will also be beautifully framed and displayed within the hotel for guests and visitors to admire, as well as featured across our social media channels.
How to enter the Billesley Manor poetry competition:
- Write an original poem inspired by any theme that resonates with you.
- Submit your entry via email to sales@billesleymanor.com by midnight on 31st March 2025.
- Await the winner’s announcement on 5th April 2025 via our social media platforms.

Celebrating poetry, Warwickshire heritage, and Shakespeare
